Sony Device Code Theory

One day I noticed some patterns in the Sony device code assignments.  Looking through the Sony15 codes, I discovered that there were a lot of similar codes in multiples of 32, like 68-100-132-164-228, 119-151, 185-217, 80-208, etc.  I also noticed, as have many others, that most of the Sony20 codes began with the same 5 bits, which is why they are separated into 5 and 8 bits.  When other new devices were discovered, like the receiver codes being exactly 32 apart between command modes, and the 2nd and 3rd room codes for receiver, and especially the HTS devices, that there was more to this.  I eventually discovered that the middle 3 bits of all the Sony20 codes were 1 or 2 (LSB) (or in the case of newer stuff, 3).  I then discovered that it would make sense if you separated the codes into 5.3.5 bits, just like how the lengths of the codes were extended a while ago.  With more and more device codes being discovered, this pattern holds.  Here is a chart of how the device codes should probably be arranged.  Breaks in the pattern are in red with notes at the end about why I think they are that way.

Red stuff: For the Satellite 2 and 3 codes, it is obvious that someone forgot the last 5 bits were LSB!  For the CD2 code, it seems that they forgot where the division between groups of bits were, setting the 8 value bit as well as the 32 value bit, making the code 8 too big.
